PWSD#1 is pleased to announce the purchase of a new property that will serve as the future site of its operations facility, consolidating district functions under one roof and providing secure indoor storage for critical vehicles, equipment, and inventory. The facility addresses a longstanding need to protect essential assets from weather-related damage, extend their lifespan, reduce maintenance costs, and improve system reliability. Located next to the million-gallon aerial tank, it will serve as a centralized hub for administrative offices, field operations, and equipment storage, enhancing efficiency and strengthening service to customers throughout the district.
To support this facility and other infrastructure upgrades, the District has secured a Certificate of Participation (COP) loan to fund priority projects from its long-range capital improvement plan. These projects include system upgrades, equipment replacement, facility enhancements, and new water storage to maintain safe, reliable service and ensure capacity during peak demand and emergencies.
“Investing in modern facilities and infrastructure ensures we can continue delivering high-quality water service to our community both now and into the future,” said Board President, Jason Fulbright. “The new property and capital financing position the District to operate more efficiently, respond more effectively to emergencies, and responsibly manage public resources.”
The purchase and financing were approved by the District’s Board of Directors following careful financial review and long-term planning analysis. Public Water Supply District No. 1 of Jefferson County remains committed to transparency, fiscal responsibility, and proactive infrastructure management, reflecting its ongoing dedication to safe, reliable water service and environmental stewardship for years to come.
